Pinterest Lens could change the way we browse and shop!
One of the newest features from this last couple of weeks that’s really grabbed my attention is Pinterest Lens. Launched in Beta, Pinterest Lens could change the way that we browse and shop. In the same way that Shazam listens to the music you are trying to identify, maps a sample against a known database of music and then returns the song information, Pinterest Lens will now visually identify pictures and return related Pins or items of interest.
You could take out your phone, point the camera at a dining table and Lens will identify that what it is looking at is indeed a dining table. Here’s where the clever part comes in - Lens supposedly will come up with a number of different Pinterest boards (there are over a billion boards across 75 million users) and provides Pins that tell you what chairs or tablecloths could go with it that, or even other types of tables that would serve the same purpose.
